LOUISVILLE, Ky. – June 26, 2025 – GE Appliances, a Haier company, today released its 2024 Economic Impact Report, emphasizing the company’s ongoing investments and contributions to South Carolina’s economy. The company currently works with 131 South Carolina suppliers and spends approximately $15 million annually in the state. GE Appliances directly employs 249 people in South Carolina, with an additional 1,450 jobs supported through its broader economic impact.

  • $70 million investment in a 259,000-square-foot Manufacturing Center of Excellence for water heater production in Camden.
  • $50 million investment in a 584,820-square-foot distribution center in Greenville, operational since summer 2024,
  • 79 new jobs created at the Greenville distribution center.

Camden: Advancing American Water Heating Innovation

The Camden plant, the first new tank-style water heater facility built in the U.S. in over three decades, expanded its product portfolio in 2024 to include the RealMAX® Power Vent gas water heater—one of over 45 American-made solutions now produced at the facility.

Greenville: Enhancing Logistics with Modern Sustainability

The Greenville distribution center not only enhances supply chain performance across the eastern U.S., but it also integrates modern sustainability features such as electric vehicle charging stations and all-electric spotting trucks.

“The new distribution center in Greenville County is now fully operational and proving to be a major asset in our zero-distance strategy,” said Adam Wiseman, senior director of strategy, inventory and deployment for GE Appliances’ Distribution team. “By strategically leveraging the Port of Charleston and Inland Port Greer, we're streamlining our logistics and ultimately serving our customers and consumers in the southern and eastern U.S. more efficiently.”

GE Appliances’ 2024 Economic Impact Report also highlights the company’s national footprint, which drives the creation of more than 98,000 jobs across the U.S., spanning sectors from steel production and transportation to retail and healthcare.
