A new year, brings new trends. We turned to Designer T.K. Wismer for her kitchen design forecast as well as a sneak peek inside the booth she designed for us at IBS booth. Want more? Follow us on Twitter or contact us for an interview with T.K.
- Bold Color: T.K. predicts we’ll see a shift away from muted tones as color takes the stage. She believes people are gravitating to greater self-expression and customized looks.
- Inside our booth: T.K. will showcase lavender with Stainless, red countertops with Slate and Black Stainless with...gasp, navy blue cabinets.
- Mixing and matching of materials. Go ahead and mix metals and finishes. T.K. believes we’re in a moment where “anything goes” from brass to brushed nickel and chrome. She also thinks appliance finishes can work well together. Pair a Black Stainless range with a suite of traditional stainless appliances to make a statement.
- Inside our booth: You’ll see brass accessories with Black Stainless and copper paired with Slate.
- Darker, dramatic spaces. Whether its darker cabinets, countertops, tiles or appliances, T.K. sees a shift from the all-white kitchen. Why dark? Darker colors ground a space, they can extend dark floors and work well to set off white tones.
- Inside our booth: Look for black marble, Black Stainless and Black Slate.
